Ocean Park

Located in the Southern District or the southern part of Hong Kong Island, Ocean Park is another huge draw, for both children and adults alike. Far from being a classic theme park with more of the same, this one is divided into two basic sections – the Summit and the Waterfront.

The Summit (Headland) and The Waterfront (Lowland) can be accessed by a 1.5-km cable car or the Ocean Express funicular railway. Since the Headland comprises several hills, visitors can also opt to use Hong Kong's second longest outdoor escalator. The park is spread across 226 acres and comprises a mind-boggling 80 attractions and shows.

At the Waterfront, make sure you visit the Amazing Asian Animals and Aqua City, which is laced with educational content. The Grand Aquarium boasts the world’s largest aquarium dome and is home to 400 species of fish. Old Hong Kong is a replica of the old buildings and communities that once graced Wan Chai and older parts of Kowloon while to the north is Whiskers Harbour, which offers a variety of children’s rides.

After you’re done on terra firma, take the cable car or escalator to the Summit, where Thrill Mountain has plenty of crazy rides including the Hair Raiser. At Marine World, sea lions and seals plus daily dolphin and killer-whale shows leave children wide-eyed. Ocean Park has won many international awards and is definitely worth the hype.
